The Rock said he had to go away for a while on the April 8 episode of WWE RAW. A new report provides an update on his potential return.

The Rock was featured on WWE programming throughout the road to WrestleMania 40. He returned to the ring at WrestleMania 40 Night One, where he and Roman Reigns beat Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins. “The Final Boss” wrapped up his run on the following episode of RAW, where he told Rhodes that he would be coming back for him.

In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reports that there is no planned date for The Rock’s return for a match. He writes that there have been talks about a match for WWE WrestleMania 41. Meltzer notes that The Rock could have a match later in 2024, but this is not a lock.

The report notes that The Rock originally wanted to come back and work with Roman Reigns. However, per Meltzer, he would prefer to work with Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41.

WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
