Ric Flair has announced that he "will walk away" from AEW if he is embarrassing the company.

In a social media post on Thursday, Flair addressed "negativity" that he is hearing regarding his AEW run, said that he will leave the company if he is embarrassing it, and issued an apology that appeared to be directed towards AEW owner, president, CEO, GM, and head of creative Tony Khan.

Flair posted to his X and Instagram accounts:

I Am So Tired Of Hearing All This Negativity! I Don’t Need To Work, And I Don’t Need The Money. Can’t I Simply Enjoy Being By My Dear Friend @Sting’s Side For The Next Few Months Without So Much Hatred? I Know I’m Old, But That Doesn’t Mean I Can’t Enjoy Life! I Have Earned The Right To Do Whatever I Want & I’m Exactly Where I Want To Be! I Appreciate Everything @TonyKhan, But I’m More Than Willing To Walk Away If I Am Embarrassing You And Your Company. All I Can Say Is I’m Sorry!

Flair's post could be in reference to social media backlash and chatter from a line he delivered in an in-ring promo on Wednesday night in a segment taped for Friday's Rampage episode where he issued an invitation to women in the audience from ages 18 to 28 to come to his hotel room with "no boyfriends or husbands.” Flair famously used similar verbiage in promos with Jim Crockett Promotions/WCW in the 1980s.

Steve Austin and Kevin Nash are among the wrestling personalities who posted responses to Flair in the comments section on Instagram.

Austin posted:

Ric, I enjoy watching you do all the things you do. And you’re always having fun. Keep doing you. And that’s the bottom line.

Nash posted:

Besides the fact you have earned the right. You wouldn't be there if it wasn't drawing fans. You always bring a smile to my face. Go Michigan!
