Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat will appear on Wednesday's AEW Dynamite, serving as special guest timekeeper for the event.

AEW president Tony Khan made the announcement on Twitter on Tuesday night.

Wednesday's Dynamite will be presented by HBO's Game of Thrones "House of the Dragon" in a Warner Bros. Discovery tie-in.

Steamboat made headlines earlier this year when he announced that he had turned down an offer to participate in the Ric Flair's Last Match event, stating that he wanted fans' last memories of him in the ring to be from his WWE run with Chris Jericho in 2009.

Steamboat is also set to appear at the NWA television tapings on August 29 in Nashville, Tennesee.

Here is the lineup for Dynamite:

  • Two-out-of-three falls: Bryan Danielson vs. Daniel Garcia
  • AEW World Trios tournament: The Young Bucks & a mystery partner vs. Andrade El Idolo, Rush & Dragon Lee
  • Toni Storm vs. KiLynn King
  • The Gunn Club vs. The Varsity Blonds
  • Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat appears as special guest timekeeper
