Ridge Holland shared an emotional message on WWE NXT.

On the March 26 episode of WWE NXT, Ridge Holland came to the ring and thanked William Regal, Shawn Michaels, and others at NXT. He noted that he knew he had been off, and he was aware of the perception around him. Holland stated that DMs and other backlash had been affecting the man behind the persona, and he couldn’t let it impact him as a father.

Holland noted that he had some tough conversations, and he admitted that he was lacking in mental resilience. He stated that the best decision for his mental health and his family was for him to step away from in-ring competition indefinitely. Holland thanked everyone and expressed his gratitude before he walked to the back.

Holland has been the source of plenty of backlash since Big E fractured his C1 vertebrae and C6 vertebrae on a botched suplex by Holland on SmackDown in March 2022. Holland had come to NXT to redeem himself, but he previously said that this quest had not been working.

WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
