Move over, Dwayne. Samoa Joe has been The Final Boss for a while.

While The Rock decided to bestow himself with the moniker of The Final Boss earlier this month, current AEW World Champion Samoa Joe has been using that tagline for quite some time.

The Samoan Submission Machine has been referred to as The Final Boss multiple times throughout his career. All Elite Wrestling decided to put the moniker on a t-shirt back in January. You can check out the embedded tweet below.

The Rock first dropped The Final Boss nickname on social media on March 13. Since then, WWEShop has released a Final Boss shirt, which is still available for pre-order by clicking here.

This morning, All Elite Wrestling took to social media (via their ShopAEW account) to capitalize on the controversy and once again advertised Samoa Joe’s Final Boss shirt. This led to many uninformed fans and websites running with it as if this were new merchandise.

Sometimes, a little bit of research goes a long way.
