Santos Escobar says he’s innocent.

At WWE WrestleMania 40, Santos Escobar and Dominik Mysterio were set to face Rey Mysterio and Dragon Lee. However, on the April 5 episode of WWE SmackDown, Dragon Lee was found following an attack backstage. Andrade then took his place. Rey and Andrade then beat Dominik and Escobar at WWE WrestleMania 40.

In a SmackDown Exclusive, Santos Escobar was asked about the attack on Lee, and he firmly denied that he or Legado del Fantasma were involved.

“Let me be very clear, crystal clear. I, we, didn’t touch Dragon Lee,” Escobar said. We were very happy that it happened to him, but we didn’t touch him. Now if you’ll excuse us, we have far more important things to worry about.”

Escobar will compete in a Triple Threat match on the April 12 episode of WWE SmackDown, and he will have the chance to earn a world title shot.

WrestleZone will have coverage of WWE SmackDown as it airs on Friday.
