Shawn Michaels would love to have Sean Waltman in the NXT mix.

During this week’s NXT Deadline media call, Shawn Michaels was asked about Sean Waltman potentially working with the NXT brand. In the past, Waltman has said he’d love to return to the ring and work with some of the talent. Michaels said that Waltman didn’t personally express that opinion but he would love to have him come in because he’d be a great asset.

“Well, look, I mean, that’s something that if he said it to you, he didn’t say it to me when he was here. Because, oh my goodness, I would’ve taken him up on that. My goodness. But look, yeah, so I know that he’s been getting back in there, here and there, and I gotta tell you, he’s in the best shape he’s been in in a long, long time. He looks fantastic. So look, that obviously would be something I’d have to run up the flagpole and everything. But look, the talent would benefit from that so much. I know he’d have a blast. So look, if that is an option that we’re allowed to explore, I’d jump all over it. But it’s amazing. We’re all buddies and stuff like that. But geez, he tells you guys, but he doesn’t say anything to me about it. But we were all busy trying to work. We can’t just pick it up and do it off the cuff like we used to. So the time that we did the panel and everything, he was really focused on helping us out and getting that done. But I gotta tell you; I think that would be awesome. The talent would benefit from that so much, and clearly, we do as a program; if we get Kid doing anything for us, that’s a huge plus for NXT.”

In the past, one of the names Waltman has said he would like to work with is current SmackDown star Santos Escobar. Waltman returned to the ring in 2022 for a pair of matches for GCW, a tag match against The Major Players and a singles match against Joey Janela. Waltman later had surgery for a torn bicep suffered in the first match, but said he plans to return to the ring once healed.
