A new report has shed much more light on the serious injury that Rhea Ripley incurred last week and how much time from the WWE ring she is expected to miss.

On Monday afternoon it was rumored that the reigning Women’s World Champion, Rhea Ripley, suffered an injury during the previous week’s edition of Monday Night Raw that could force her to vacate her championship. The rumors were then confirmed last night when she did indeed relinquish control of the belt she has held for the last year.

However, little about the specifics of the injury was revealed in the early reports, and only references to a shoulder issue were made during Raw on Monday night. However, on a Tuesday morning edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez gave some specifics on the injury and how much time Ripley is expected to miss.

“She suffered a sprained AC joint in the brawl with Liv Morgan last week,” Alvarez reported. “Liv threw her into the wall and she hurt it, a total fluke. Usually takes 4-6 weeks to regain mobility and up to three months to be back ready to go.”

Will Rhea Ripley make it back in time for Summerslam 2024?

If Rhea Ripley is able to regain mobility in four weeks instead of six but needs the full three months to be fully recovered, that would put her time on the sideline at exactly four months. Unfortunately, that would put her a couple of weeks past a return for this year’s WWE Summerslam on August 3.

If she does not need a full three months after regaining mobility then there is an outside chance she will make a comeback at the company’s biggest event of the summer. However, chances are very good that she will be back for WWE’s next premium live event, Bash in Berlin, on August 31.

The company will likely aim for that date and be careful not to rush the woman who has become the face of her division over the last year.
