We have seen some dream matches, but the biggest could have been Sting vs. Undertaker before WWE robbed fans of that meeting.

Sting Vs. Undertaker: Unforgettable Match Wrestling Fans Were Robbed Of

After such a long and historic career, Sting will retire this Saturday. He has fought all over the world for every promotion, but the ending takes place in AEW.

Sting & Darby Allin defend their tag titles against The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson). It seems like an odd match, but they let Sting make the call.

Truthfully, fans always wanted Sting vs. Undertaker in WWE. It seemed like a real possibility at one time.

While speaking to Shakiel Mahjouri of CBS Sports, Sting felt the match would have been unforgettable.

I think if it was done right, it could have been a night, for sure, everyone would remember and never forget,” said Sting. “They would be talking about it to this day.”

Once Sting signed with WWE, it seemed like the obvious booking decision. Instead, Sting lost to Triple H at WrestleMania 31. He wrestled a few more times before an injury and then WWE would not clear him.

Considering the gimmicks and age of both, it would need cinematic history.

“In our situation, I think with his gimmick and the mystiques of his character and mine, we couldn’t have enough smoke and mirrors,” said Sting. “I think it definitely would have been a night that people remembered.”

“Man, I would have loved to have seen that. If I could have had that match alone, I would have been great. I wouldn’t have had to do anything else.”

Fans truly missed out on a once in a lifetime match. Dating back to the WCW days, Sting vs. Undertaker was the match to book.

We will forever wonder what could have been.
