AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland responds to Grayson Waller.

WWE star Grayson Waller recently took a shot at AEW when promoting WWE’s upcoming show in Jacksonville, which is widely considered to be AEW’s home. Waller said that it had been years since fans had seen good wrestling in Jacksonville. He noted that’s what WWE would be bringing.

Speaking with News4JAX, AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland was asked about Grayson Waller’s comments. The host noted that they were a dig at AEW.

“Obviously, and I love the subtleties and the person that said that, congratulations on their championship gold,” Swerve Strickland said. “Amazing. You were awesome when you were watching me in the seats when I was being a champion over where you were as well.

“So, happy to see where you progressed to. But let’s be real, we are the best wrestling, not just in Jacksonville, but anywhere on the globe. I stand on business on that.”

WrestleZone will have coverage of AEW Dynamite as it airs on April 24.
