The Rock will not be hosting this year’s Emmy Awards, but it’s not because he doesn’t want to.

Former WWE Superstar and Hollywood megastar Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson recently turned down the chance to host the Emmy Awards. When asked by Entertainment Tonight why he turned down the opportunity, Johnson explained that it all came down to scheduling.

“It was just schedule. I was really, truly honored when they came to me and asked, but it was just a scheduling thing,” The Rock said. “That’s all. That’s really what it comes down to.”

Scheduling seems to be The Rock’s biggest hurdle for many things nowadays. Speculation continues to build that The Brahma Bull will return to WWE in 2023 on the road to WrestleMania to face Roman Reigns at WWE’s biggest show of the year.

Will it happen? That will likely come down to The Rock’s schedule and if the price is right. We’ll find out soon enough if WrestleMania 39 will feature a battle to see who is the true Head of the Table.
