Recently, AEW had advertised former WWE Champion Rob Van Dam for the upcoming episode of AEW Collision. The President of the Jacksonville-based promotion, Tony Khan shared the reason why RVD was advertised for this weekend’s episode of AEW Collision.

While speaking to the Battleground Podcast, AEW President Tony Khan mentioned that he thought it would be fitting to have Rob Van Dam featured on this Week’s episode of AEW Collision because it is 4/20.

“Well, it’s 4/20 on Saturday. So I thought it would be very fitting to bring RVD to Peoria and have RVD as part of this weekend’s Collision. So, we are going to have a huge Dynamite tonight on TBS. A big weekend of Collision and Rampage, three hours Saturday. And it all leads up to the big pay-per-view this weekend, Dynasty and I can’t wait to get started tonight on TBS. This is just going to be a loaded, stacked, awesome show tonight.”

Tony Khan also mentioned that he is looking forward to this week’s AEW telecasts as the Swiss Superman wrestled Will Ospreay, and that will lead into AEW Dynasty when the Aerial Assassin takes on The American Dragon Bryan Danielson.

“I’m so excited about it. I cannot wait for it. We’ve got Claudio Castagnoli versus Will Ospreay, yeah… Amazing. Real dream match and leading into another dream match this weekend, Ospreay versus Claudio’s partner Bryan Danielson. So much great wrestling, starting tonight on TBS,” Tony Khan said.

Last night on AEW Dynamite, two more matches for Collision were announced. PAC and FTR will be teaming together to take on The Elite. The Blackpool Combat Club will also wrestle The Don Callis family in a tag team match.
