A tournament will decide the next challenger for NWA World Champion Trevor Murdoch with the match to take place at August's NWA 74 pay-per-view.

NWA owner William Corgan revealed the news at the end of Tuesday's edition of Power in addition to three matches.

NWA 74, their 74th anniversary show, will take place over two nights at St. Louis, famous Missouri's Chase Ballroom on August 27th and 28th.

Corgan didn't announce how many men were competing in the tournament, nor when the matches would take place. It's assumed they will happen on NWA Power over the next two months.

The three matches are:

  • Pope vs. Brian Myers
  • Thom Latimer vs. Chris Adonis
  • Nick Aldis vs. Tim Storm

After a loss to Aldis some time ago, Storm had been unable to challenge for the World title due to a stipulation in the match. Corgan said at Murdoch's request, that stipulation was lifted and thus, Storm is in the tournament.
