Trinity recalls the key conversation that led her to signing with IMPACT Wrestling.

When contemplating her next career move, former WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Trinity (fka Naomi) spoke with IMPACT Wrestling President Scott D’Amore and producer Gail Kim about potentially bringing her aboard to their company. It was Trinity’s conversation with Gail Kim, though, that swayed her to ink a deal with IMPACT earlier this year. Speaking with Adrian Hernandez, Trinity revealed some of the details of her phone call with Kim.

“I think it was just her belief in me [that provided a sense of reassurance]. Had other conversations, but that support and that conversation she and I had, it hit me in a way that it just felt right,” Trinity said. “I thank Gail so much because that conversation is what made me seal the deal for me to go to IMPACT. It was Gail, so I knew that I would be in good hands. I knew that I would be taken seriously. I knew that I would be valued, I knew that I would be heard. That’s just what I knew I needed at that point in my career.”

“Also, just the scheduling and everything all that was important to me as well because I do have a family. I still wanted to be able to go support my husband. I still wanted to have space to grow and perform and work, but still be able to move how I needed to move, and try new things, and be there for my family. So everything just all came together. Gail had a lot to do with that, Scott had a lot to do with that. Going from feeling so not wanted to feeling so wanted that was the game-changer for me.”

Following her IMPACT debut in late April, Trinity won the Knockouts Championship at Slammiversary in June by defeating Deonna Purrazzo. Trinity will soon head into a title defense against Jordynne Grace at Hard To Kill — the first pay-per-view under the rebrand into TNA.
