The Undertaker is probably the most respected wrestler in history, but boy was he wrong doubting The Rock would not last in WWE.

Undertaker Doubted The Rock Would Last In WWE

When you think of WWE, it is hard to imagine the Undertaker. He wrestled for 30 consecutive years and accomplished everything, including an impressive WrestleMania streak that will never be matched.

During his active days, he was the locker-room leader and would serve as a judge if a wrestler was out of line. That is how important he is to the WWE.

He saw plenty of names come and go, with one being The Rock. On his Six Feet Under podcast, Undertaker admitted to not thinking The Rock would last after his Survivor Series 1996 debut.

“I’ll never forget, I remember him coming out in the Garden,” said Undertaker. “He had the funny colored thing on and whole deal.”

“I was like ‘This kid ain’t gonna make it. He ain’t got a chance. He’s dead in the water.’”

“I thought him being a legacy would give him a couple years that he probably wasn’t going to deserve.”

“Even when I thought he sucked, he was always motivated. He wasn’t like having a pity party.”

“He was picking people’s brain. Also, he was around the guys that knew what the hell was going on and picking their brain.”

“Trying to figure out what it was that he was going to bring to the table. I wish more people had that.”

Undertaker officially retired from WWE in November 2022. He will also be part of the WWE family.

The Rock is now a member of the TKO Board. Therefore, he has tremendous power behind the scenes.

Nothing has been confirmed, The Rock looks set to compete at WrestleMania 40. WWE could many directions with opponents such Seth Rollins, Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns.

So, even though The Rock looks ready to wrestle again for WWE, Undertaker will not be an opponent.
