Wardlow thinks AEW have helped bring back the “Monday Night Wars” vibe to wrestling.

The former TNT Champion recently returned to AEW at Worlds End, joining Adam Cole’s Undisputed Kingdom. While he failed to beat Samoa Joe for the AEW Champion, Wardlow still has a big future ahead of him in the company.

Wardlow spoke to XeniaDidThat about his view on the scene today. She asked his opinion on wrestling today. When asked if he considered today one of the best times to be a fan, he compared to the current product to the “Attitude Era” of the late-1990s.

He gave credit to AEW for creating competition for the WWE.

“I grew up during the Attitude Era. Which up until now, was considered the best time in wrestling. We’re getting back to that type of vibe where it’s exciting and fresh. I feel like there’s a younger generation getting back into it, like wrestling is becoming cool again. I think a big thanks goes to AEW for coming along; competition is good for everyone.”

“Once again, we’re back to that kind of Monday Night War feel, where there’s something for everyone, and there’s some competition. It’s just exciting again.”

Wardlow: It’s ‘Very Cool’ Seeing Wrestlers Jump From AEW To ROH

Wardlow continued. Xenia asked his opinion on wrestlers jumping between AEW and ROH on a regular basis. The War Dog says it helps keep things exciting, and was something he used to love as a fan.

“When I was a fan, I always thought it was very, very cool when you saw somebody that you’re used to seeing on one brand or one show and they show up somewhere else. So, it’s always exciting. Now, we have an opportunity to start doing that again, and that’s kind of what makes everything so cool and exciting right now. You don’t really know who’s going to show up where, and it keeps it exciting.”
