Wes Lee says he is making great progress, but he is uncertain on when everything will be firing on all cylinders with his body.

Former NXT North American Champion Wes Lee was set to challenge Dominik Mysterio for the title at NXT Deadline. However, the week of the show, Lee announced that he had to get back surgery. The commentary team noted that Lee’s recovery timetable was 8 to 12 months. In March, he posted a video that showed him getting back in the ring.

In a post on Instagram on April 21, Wes Lee provided an update on his recovery.

“Recovery update: I’m making great progress, still uncertain on when everything will be firing on all cylinders with my body, but the mind is strong,” Wes Lee wrote. “Having creative waves and I’m diving back into other outlets to create art.

“Haven’t done this since ‘08 so bare with the sloppiness..hope everyone has a great and safe weekend!”

As of this writing, there is no word on when Wes Lee will return to WWE programming. WrestleZone wishes Lee well in his recovery, and we will provide more information as it becomes available.
