Fightful Select has learned that the WWE contract of one Bobby Lashley is “set to expire soon”. PWN added that Lashley has since been removed from WWE’s internal roster, fueling speculation about his future with the company.

Bobby Lashley: An Almighty Exit?

Lashley, who hasn’t wrestled a televised match since losing a Triple Threat match on the April 12 edition of SmackDown, has been conspicuously absent from WWE programming.

Just days before his last appearance, he teamed with The Street Profits to defeat The Final Testament at WrestleMania XL. The 48-year-old was slated to participate in the King of the Ring tournament but had to withdraw due to an undisclosed injury.

Despite his last WWE title run only ending in early 2022, Lashley’s exit wouldn’t come as a complete surprise. The eight-time world champion, with accolades including two WWE Championships, two ECW World Championships, and four TNA World Heavyweight Championships, has seen his momentum stall over the past year.

Many speculated about a potential return for Lashley in the coming months, but it now appears he could be departing WWE for goof. No doubt the veteran would land on his feet however, potentially perhaps back in his former stomping grounds in TNA after its return earlier this year.

Bobby Lashley is one of only two wrestlers to have won the WWE, ECW, and TNA/IMPACT! World Championships, the other being Rob Van Dam, securing almost legendary status in the industry.
