WWE roster update leaves AEW fans drooling

The Edge-to-AEW rumors just won't quit. The WWE Hall of Famer is mulling over the next step in his career. According to a recent report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Edge has been removed from WWE's internal roster.

Edge still appears on WWE's roster via their website. However, that is subject to change. Edge returned to WWE during the 2020 Royal Rumble and quickly reestablished himself as one of the company's top stars.

With Edge now being removed from the internal roster, AEW fans are starting to dream.

The notion of reuniting Edge and Christian for one last hoorah is something that could captivate a whole new audience. If AEW steals one of the WWE's greatest-ever talents, even at the end of his career, it will be considered a coup.

AEW has been shrouded in controversy since All-In at Wembley, due to the CM Punk altercation and subsequent termination of his contract. Acquiring Edge would be a surefire way to bring the feel-good factor back to the company.

In a recent report by Fightful, it was noted that Edge's arrival at AEW isn't "as out there as you'd think."

"Those close to him claimed earlier this year that the idea of him working in AEW isn’t as 'out there' as you’d think...Beyond many in AEW thinking it could be a real possibility, it was being discussed by a lot of people in AEW even before Edge claimed the match with Sheamus would be his last on his contract."

There's no guarantee Edge will choose to continue his wrestling career. The "Rated R Superstar" could choose to retire. However, if he wants one last run as a top name on a roster, AEW could be the perfect home.
