Asuka appears to have undergone surgery.

She has been out of action with a knee injury since WWE Backlash. On Wednesday, she posted a photo of her knee in a brace to social media.

Last month, Asuka revealed on her YouTube channel that she’s taking a break from WWE to treat a knee injury that had been bothering her for awhile.

“After the Backlash of my European tour, I had to take a break to treat my knee that I had been hurting for a while,” she wrote in the video. “My partners Kairi and Dakota helped me a lot during this tour as I could not move at my best. I am very grateful to both of them.”

Asuka was seen favoring her knee in the closing moments of the March 15, 2024 episode of SmackDown and was later pulled from that weekend’s house shows. At the time, it was reported that she would be undergoing further testing to see if the injury was something she could work through. She returned at the start of April and wrestled with Damage CTRL against Bianca Belair, Jade Cargill, and Naomi at WrestleMania. Her last match was at Backlash when her and Kairi Sane were defaeted by Cargill and Belair.
