Xia Brookside is excited for her first major opportunity with TNA at Sacrifice.

Brookside is one of two challengers lined up for Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace at TNA Sacrifice. During a new interview with WrestleZone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard, Brookside spoke about getting a title opportunity early in her run with the company.

“I feel like I’m dreaming. I’ve been wrestling for nine years. I made my debut in January at Hard to Kill, and to be put straight into a match that’s an opportunity for a title match itself was just — I feel like this is ‘where I belong’ because I feel so much belief and support from this company already. They know who I am, they’re pushing me, they believe in me and they’ve given me these opportunities. It’s scary. It’s overwhelming. But I believe in myself at the same time. I’ve put in a lot of hard work over quite a few years now.

“Being put in a match with someone like Jordynne Grace, she is the face of the company right now. She’s the face of the TNA Knockouts division, and she just gave us a new opportunity. She was in the [WWE] Royal Rumble. She just opened a massive door for everybody at TNA that a lot of people would never have thought was possible.”

Brookside then addressed her other opponent, Tasha Steelz, who she currently has a 1-1 record against. Brookside noted that Steelz has cheated to win, but she’s also a former Knockouts Champion that she’s not taking lightly.

“To get put in this position of just belief and going against two amazing wrestlers is just incredible,” Brookside said. “I’m super excited.”

An incredible opportunity

TNA Sacrifice is a unique event in the fact that it’s a good mix of new faces and tenured roster members. Brookside says this just highlights all of the opportunities waiting for talent in TNA, regardless of your status.

“TNA has created an incredible opportunity for everyone. And it doesn’t matter how old you are. If you’ve already had an incredible career, the door is open. Or if you’re just fresh starting out, they give you the opportunity,” Brookside said. “And then we’re getting these opportunities with people that have been wrestling for a long time, like Nic Nemeth. I would love to get in a ring and learn from him. I couldn’t imagine being one of the guys on the roster that gets that opportunity. And if it wasn’t for TNA, none of us would get that. There’s no limit, there’s no limitation. This, where we are now, is fresh and we’re starting. And it’s already so many levels higher than anything else right now.”

Xia Brookside and Tasha Steelz will challenge Jordynne Grace for the Knockouts Championship at TNA Sacrifice on March 8. Check out our full interview with Xia below:
