Ricky Saints Discusses Potential WWE Dream Match Against Cody Rhodes
WWE
  • Saints says facing Cody Rhodes in WWE would be a dream match; they previously met in AEW.
  • Rhodes defends WWE Title vs Drew McIntyre Nov 1 at SNME in Salt Lake City; streams on Peacock.
  • Saints defends NXT World Title vs Trick Williams in a Last Man Standing match on Nov 11.

WWE NXT Championship Ricky Saints was a guest on the October 30 episode of “Busted Open Radio.” During the interview, Saints spoke about his relationship with Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and how facing him in WWE is everyone’s dream match.

Ricky Saints On Facing Cody Rhodes In WWE

Saints agreed that it would be a great matchup, even though they had wrestled before when they were both in All Elite Wrestling. Saints faced Rhodes in his debut match, which was on the June 11, 2020, episode of AEW Dynamite. Rhodes would leave AEW and return to WWE in 2022 at WrestleMania 38. Saints, on the other hand, left AEW earlier this year and made his WWE debut not long after on the February 11, 2025, episode of NXT. He said:

“I could see that being a great matchup, too. I think the last time we wrestled was my debut for AEW. There was a tag match after that, but singles-wise, that was it. I feel like there's so much to it because when you add a real life friendship to things — and you actually have evidence of history of how things have gone — l feel like the story is within itself. And I'm sure within time we'll get to that point, but it's always funny to hear that that's one of people's dream matches, which, hey, I'm with it, 1000%.” (h/t: WrestlePurists)

So who knows when it will happen, but for now, Saints and Rhodes are busy defending their current titles.
