The Miz Gets Featured Role in Amazon Prime Reboot

The Miz's time as a prominent character on screen might be winding down, but he's still a valuable asset for WWE. He's currently seeing success as an "established jobber," using his name and career cache to help put over new faces and rising stars.

Being in his second decade in the promotion, he's a familiar face to many lapsed fans, and few are more qualified to wave the company flag on media circuits. It seems like Hollywood yet again has caught on to this undeniable charisma, as the "A-Lister" is set for another major role.

According to a release from Variety, The Miz will host Amazon Prime's reboot of American Gladiator. It's unclear when the show will start filming or premiere on the platform.

The original show had a seven-year life span and saw young athletes compete against "gladiators" in various mini-games and competitions. This version seems to have the same premise and will feature everyone from D1 athletes to professional bodybuilders.

Although it wasn't directly expressed, it would be fascinating to see current or former WWE talent appear as "gladiators." Imagine the likes of Braun Strowman or Omos stepping into the arena and going against an SEC football player in a physical challenge. That sounds like must-watch programming.

The Miz has the range to either be an energetic presenter and be impartial or turn on his heel charm and talk trash to some of the incoming competitors. This should bring even more eyeballs to WWE, and The Miz will thrive in a position where there's a mic in his hand.
