It’s safe to say that WWE superstar Danhausen has hit the ground running with both the company and the fans.
After a bizarre debut at Elimination Chamber this year which drew minimal pop from the crowd and looked to be WWE’s next ‘Gobbledy-Gooker’, Danhausen has quickly turned things around.
Now featured on TV regularly and in a feud with the Miz leading to appearances at PLE’s and ample screen time, Danhausen has firmly established himself.
Still, the sheer speed of his rise towards the top and the push he’s getting has, at times, seemed almost impossible to fathom.
However, during a call with Nick Khan and Paul Leveque (Triple H) this week, all was revealed.
While the casual wrestling fan might tune in for the matches and the odd storyline, those who are seasoned viewers of the product as a whole will know that merchandise plays a huge role.
For years, we saw Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock dominate, before John Cena took things to a new level completely.
Now, according to PWInsider, it seems Danhausen is doing the business too. As revealed by Khan and Leveque, Danhausen is now the second top merchandise seller in all of WWE.
That there is the reason behind Danhausen’s push. And with WWE making a push to bring back WWE Live events in Europe this year, it’s likely we’ll see the ‘Very Evil, Very Nice’ superstar make his way across the Atlantic.
As for the top seller, that’s open for debate. Official WrestleMania figures showed CM Punk and Cody Rhodes as the top dogs with Danhausen just behind.
As it stands, Rhodes is probably the top man.
