WWE Fans Outraged Over WrestleMania 42 Video Reveal
Jerome Miron-Imagn Images

For several days this past week, WWE kept dropping several teaser videos on social media that showed a closeup of someone's shoes walking. Wrestling fans love a good mystery, so the speculation began that this could be the first hints of a return for a major name like Brock Lesnar, the repacking of a singles star such as Santos Escobar, or even the comeback of Chris Jericho. In the end, it turned out to be nothing more than a WrestleMania 42 hype video with Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar, and CM Punk. After the video dropped, fans went online to express their disappointment.

WWE Fans Were Disappointed By The WrestleMania 42 Video

Yesterday, WWE finally revealed what all the closeup shoe teases were about with a one-minute video on YouTube and social media. In it, Triple H walks into a gambling room in Las Vegas where Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar, and CM Punk sit at a table with Paul Heyman standing behind The Game. As Aerosmith's "Back in the Saddle", begins to play, a graphic shows that tickets are available for WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas.

Fans promptly took to social media to express their displeasure:

Opinions were equally unkind in the comment section for the YouTube video, which has over 500,000 views as of this writing.

The build up with the vignettes just for it to be a WrestleMania 42 advertisement

THAT’S ALL THOSE TEASERS WERE?!

Nowadays in WWE we can't expect mysterious elements or most exciting Storyline which forces us to tune in weekly show or PLE, Bcuz All we got is Ads Everywhere & Promotional material

WWE Keeps Disappointing Fans By Not Understanding What They Want

Fans were also upset that Randy Orton wasn't shown , or that everyone, especially Brock Lesnar, looked like they were an AI creation. On top of this is anger that a controversial figure such as Lesnar would even be part of it in the first place, while not a single women's wrestler like Tiffany Stratton, Stephanie Vaquer, or Becky Lynch was included .

WWE has continued to anger fans with their choices lately, and WrestleMania is a big part of it. There has already been outrage that the Show of Shows was taken away from New Orleans just to be put back in Las Vegas for the second year in a row. WrestleMania 43 will see even more controversy when WWE takes the Grandest Stage of Them All to Saudi Arabia.

The opionion of many seems to be that, under TKO, WWE has been turned into one big AI ad. The lifeless looking video represents the lifelessness of the on-screen product, as the days of fun surprises have been replaced by advertisement letdowns.
