49ers begin OTAs today: Week 1 schedule

The San Francisco 49ers are among 21 teams kicking off their organized team activities (OTAs) today. This phase of the offseason brings an increased workload, with the first practice open to the media occurring on Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. PT.

This phase lasts four weeks, and NFL teams can conduct 10 total days of OTAs. While live contact is prohibited, teams can start running 7-on-7, 9-on-7, and 11-on-11 drills.

Below is the media availability schedule for the first week of OTAs:

Tuesday, May 21

  • 12:30 p.m. - Practice
  • Approximately 1:45 p.m. - Kyle Shanahan press conference
  • Following Shanahan - Select players available

Wednesday, May 22

  • 1:00 p.m. - Defensive coaches press conference
  • 1:30 p.m. - Offensive coaches press conference

  • May 20-21
  • May 23
  • May 28-29
  • May 31

After OTAs, the 49ers are scheduled to hold a mandatory minicamp from June 4-6. Then, the team will break until training camp at the end of July.
