There has been a mass migration from Atlanta to Pittsburgh. It began when Arthur Smith was fired as Falcons head coach and subsequently hired as the new Steelers offensive coordinator.
Smith took some luggage with him too. He surely had a part in bringing Van Jefferson and Cordarrelle Patterson to Pittsburgh . More recently, it was MyCole Pruitt who signed with the Steelers, following Smith from the Titans to the Falcons and now to the Steelers.
Most recently, it’s Scotty Miller who is reuniting with Smith in Pittsburgh, according to Adam Schefter.

The speedster spent the 2023 campaign with the Dirty Birds in hopes of adding some speed to a Falcons offense that featured two big-bodied pass catchers in Drake London and Kyle Pitts.
Unfortunately, for one reason or another, that never materialized in Atlanta. Miller only notched 11 catches for 161 yards and two scores. The goal for the Steelers is to regain his 2020 form when he caught 33 passes for 501 yards and three touchdowns in the Buccaneers’ Super Bowl campaign.
However, it still doesn’t really give Pittsburgh the WR2 they’re looking for to pair with George Pickens after trading Diontae Johnson to the Panthers this offseason. They’ve got Calvin Austin, Quez Watkins and now Miller in the fold, but all three are better suited in smaller roles than as a WR2.
Granted, Arthur Smith is notorious for running multiple tight end sets, so there’s less of a focus on the receiver position, but the Falcons’ struggles should serve as a warning to the Steelers for what could potentially go wrong.
