Saints receive short end of the stick from NFL again with schedule release
© Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Fans of the New Orleans Saints don't really need another reason to be frustrated with the NFL. That being said, they have a new one after the recent schedule release for the entire league.

The Saints have the fifth-worst luck when it comes to rest for the 2024 regular season.

Of course, "luck" is a relative term. It's a numbers game, but they got the short end of the stick.

Only the Seattle Seahawks, Denver Broncos, Indianapolis Colts, and San Francisco 49ers get less rest during the 2024 season than the Saints.

Why is that for New Orleans? One tight stretch of games makes it a lot tougher on the Saints this season.

From September 29th to October 17th, the Saints play four games.

Accordingly, that equates to four NFL games in 18 days for one team. That's due to one Monday night game, one Thursday night game, and two Sunday games in the span of less than twenty days.

While that stretch may not be the most difficult in terms of opponents, it will put the availability and determination to the test for New Orleans. They have to stay fresh. but that's nearly impossible in a three week span with four games.

Hopefully, the Saints can navigate that stretch of their season and get at least a couple of wins from those matchups.
