Anthony Dirrell’s stunning uppercut on Marcos Hernandez was so good that even his opponent applauded while lying on the canvas.

Dirrell defeated Hernandez via a fourth-round knockout as the pair met on the undercard of Canelo Alvarez vs Caleb Plant at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

After a bright start from Dirrell, Hernandez began to box his way back into contention, but it was one MONSTROUS right uppercut that finished the dog.

Dirrell wound it up from afar and landed cleanly on the chin of Hernandez, who dropped to the canvas and applauded the shot from his opponent.

Hernandez was able to get to his feet before being counted out but stumbled to the side almost immediately. The referee was left with no choice but to wave it off.

It was an emphatic way for Dirrell to silence those who believe he’s past it. While his punch power remains, he’s always going to be a threat in the ring.

As for Hernandez, that was his fifth defeat in seven bouts. He’s only 28, but it’s difficult to imagine him getting a fight of that magnitude, on a card of that quality, ever again.
