The Arkansas Razorbacks have made another loud noise on the transfer portal front.

The initial plan of now former Florida Atlantic Owls star Johnell Davis after the 2023-24 college basketball season was to enter the transfer portal and declare for the 2024 NBA Draft. Well, the NBA is no longer part of his goals this year, as he’s decided to go to the SEC and play for the Arkansas Razorbacks.

Davis a huge get for the Arkansas Razorbacks, who are now under a new head coach in John Calipari . Slowly but surely, Calipari is forming a formidable Razorbacks roster for the 2024-25 campaign. Before the news broke out about Davis’ transfer to the school, the Razorbacks had already gotten the commitments of a couple of key transfers in Jonas Aidoo from the Tennessee Volunteers and Zvonimir Ivisic, who followed Calipari to Arkansas from the Kentucky Wildcats.

In four seasons with the Owls, Davis averaged 11.2 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game, while posting a 48.0 field goal percentage.
