Baylor Bears guard LJ Cryer Raymond Carlin III-USA TODAY Sports

On Monday, Baylor Bears guard LJ Cryer entered transfer portal, according to Ashley Hodge of SicEm365.

Last season, Cryer averaged 15.0 points, 2.1 assists, and 0.5 steals, while shooting 45.3 percent from the field and 41.5 percent from three (1st in the Big 12 Conference). In addition, he was tied for the conference lead in three-point field goals per game (2.6). He was named the Big 12 Conference Player of the Week twice.

During the NCAA Tournament, Cryer broke the program’s tournament single-game scoring record with 30 points against Creighton in the second round.

It is a surprising announcement. Last week, Cryer declared for the 2023 NBA Draft, while maintaining his college eligibility. He will become the second Baylor player to enter the transfer portal, joining guard Jordan Turner.

He undoubtedly will draw a lot of interest. His shooting and experience would be an asset to any contending team.
