Izaiah Brockington completes transfer from Penn State to Iowa State

Guard Izaiah Brockington was one of a handful of Penn State Nittany Lions men's basketball players who reportedly entered the transfer portal less than 24 hours after news broke that Purdue Boilermakers assistant Micah Shrewsberry was becoming the new PSU head coach.

On Thursday, the Iowa State Cyclones confirmed Brockington had joined their program. He first tweeted the news Wednesday afternoon:

"Izaiah is a downhill playmaking guard who will thrive in the pick-n-roll," Iowa State head coach T.J. Otzelberger said for the prepared statement. "He's got the ability to make plays at the rim and set up teammates. Izaiah is an elite rebounder from the guard position and will impact us with his leadership and toughness."

According to ESPN stats, Brockington finished the 2020-21 season second on the Nittany Lions in scoring with 12.6 points per game, and he's increased his scoring output over each of the past two campaigns. He reached double-digits in scoring 18 times in 2020-21.

He has two years of eligibility remaining.
