In what has been a tumultuous season at best, the Huskies had arguably their best moment of the year this past weekend with a sweep of Oregon and Oregon State. Freshman Keyon Menifield was a crucial part of both wins.

Against the Ducks, Menifield became the first Husky since Markelle Fultz to record 27 points, seven assists, and five rebounds in a game. He also became the only freshman in the country this season to record 27 points on better than 70% shooting from the field on 10+ attempts along with seven assists.

In the matchup with the Beavers, Menifield recorded 12 points and a career-high eight rebounds. Those numbers resulted in Menifield being selected as the Pac-12 Freshman of the Week.

Menifield became the second Husky to win the Freshman of the Week award this year, with fellow guard Koren Johnson earning the honor following Washington's matchup with the Bay Area schools. With two different recipients of the award, Washington joins UCLA as the only school with multiple Freshman of the Week winners.

After setting his career high in points against the Ducks, what's next for the 6'1, 150-pound freshman? The regular season is quickly coming to a close, with only three games remaining before the Pac-12 tournament. Menifield has had a solid freshman season thus far, averaging 9.9 points, and 2.9 assists per game.

Mike Hopkins and co. found a budding star in Menifield, and he clearly has a lot of room to grow. Alongside Johnson, it looks like the Huskies have found the backcourt of the future.
