Nebraska basketball head coach Fred Hoiberg has been a busy man. After several players left in the transfer portal, the Huskers had seven scholarships to fill.

That number has gone down to six now that Andrew Morgan of North Dakota State has committed. But we still don’t have official word on Rienk Mast. Juwan Gary and Brice Williams have confirmed they will be back next season, which is huge. Mast would be too.

Nebraska would have three of its five starters back from an NCAA tournament team. It won’t be easy to replace Keisei Tominaga. Nebraska also needs a point guard and a veteran on the wing. Frankie Fidler is still an option and would add some much-needed scoring, shooting, and playmaking.

However, the Huskers are in a good spot with another transfer — William Kyle of South Dakota State. The Bellevue, Nebraska native has visited the Huskers. Hoiberg also did an in-home visit and according to Jamie Shaw of On3.com, citing multiple sources, Nebraska basketball is the “team to watch.”

Kyle was an All-Summitt player this past season averaging 13 points, six rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 1.6 blocks. He’s 6-foot-9 and also shot 62 percent from the field last season as a sophomore, although he didn’t attempt a single 3-point attempt.

Kyle would have two years of eligibility. He would also help fill the void of defense, rebounding, and interior defense left by Josiah Allick. If needed, Kyle could start alongside Mast or Morgan, if Mast goes pro.

There are plenty of moving parts and another transfer will visit later this week, but Kyle is a name to watch for Nebraska basketball fans. He could be the next domino to fall.
