No. 2 Baylor postpones three more games

One of the best men's college basketball teams in the country will remain out of action through at least late next week.

The Baylor Bears, holders of a perfect 17-0 record and ranked No. 2 in the nation as of Monday morning, confirmed that their next three games are postponed "due to the Big 12 Conference men's basketball interruption guidelines." Baylor offered no further information about the program's status.

The Bears were scheduled to face the No. 7-ranked Texas Tech Red Raiders on Saturday and the No. 14-ranked West Virginia Mountaineers on Feb. 15 and Feb. 18. The Feb. 15 game was set to occur at West Virginia, while Baylor was scheduled to host the Mountaineers on Feb. 18.

"The Big 12 Conference will work with the schools to reschedule postponed games at a later date," Baylor added in its release.

Last Thursday, Baylor announced that contests versus the TCU Horned Frogs and Oklahoma Sooners were postponed due to undisclosed reasons. Chuck Carlton of the Dallas Morning News reported that positive COVID-19 tests and contact tracing within the program were impacting Baylor at that time.

Baylor hasn't competed since a win over the Texas Longhorns last Tuesday. The Bears are currently scheduled to resume play against the Oklahoma State Cowboys, ranked No. 23, on Feb. 20.
