Morgantown, WV - The West Virginia Mountaineers (9-21, 4-13) could not keep up with the perimeter shooting of TCU Wednesday night, hitting 11-23 from behind the arc, as the Horned Frogs (20-10, 9-8) captured their first win inside the WVU Coliseum Wednesday night 93-81. TCU forward Emanuel Miller led the Horned Frogs with 21 points while WVU center Jesse Edwards led all scorers with 36 points and grabbed 13 rebounds. 

TCU senior guard Jameer Nelson Jr. opened the game with a three to spark a 12-2 run before West Virginia made its first field goal of the game at the 15:20 mark of the first half. 

The Horned Frogs were hot from the outside in the first half, going 8-13 from three-point range to build their largest lead of 23 while the Mountaineers committed eight of their nine first half turnovers and trailed 43-20 with 5:29 remaining in the first half. 

West Virginia outscored TCU 12-5 in the final three and a half minutes of the first half, capped off with an alley-oop from senior point guard Kerr Kriisa to senior center Jesse Edwards, cutting the deficit to 15, 53-38, going into halftime. 

As he did to open the game, Jameer Nelson Jr. buried a three to start the second half.

The Mountaineers trimmed the Horned Frogs lead to 13 but TCU went on an 8-0 for a 73-52 lead at the 12:06 mark of the second half. 

West Virginia responded with a 7-0 run, starting with a Kriisa three and four consecutive free throws had the Mountaineers back within 14 near the midway point of the second half. 

West Virginia forward Josiah Harris cut the deficit to 11 after making a contested layup in drawing the foul with 6:27 left to play in the game. 

The Mountaineers got within 10 with just over three minutes remaining but as they did so often throughout the night, the Horned Frogs responded, stretching the lead back to 14 with 1:53 left to play and went on to cruise for a 93-81 victory.
