The Giannis Antetokounmpo era with the Bucks may have ended in anticlimactic fashion on Wednesday.
The "Greek Freak" got into a heated altercation with Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton's father after his team got eliminated from the playoffs, the third straight season the Bucks have failed to advance past the first round. The incident occurred moments after the Pacers celebrated Haliburton's go-ahead layup with 1.3 seconds left that sealed the home team's 119-118 victory in overtime.
According to Antetokounmpo, Haliburton's father, John, walked towards him and waved a towel and swore at him — all before the final buzzer had sounded. Technically, the Bucks still had the opportunity to pull off a miraculous win, albeit without a timeout to advance the ball.
Antetokounmpo blasted Haliburton's father for his "disrespectful" act towards him and his Bucks teammates.
"I believe in being humble in victory. That's how I am," Antetokounmpo said. "A lot of people out there that are like, 'No, when you win the game, you talk [explective] and it's a green light for you to be disrespectful towards somebody else.' I disagree. I've won a championship, they haven't.
...His dad coming on the floor and showing me his son — a towel with his face on [it], [saying] 'This is what we do.' I feel like that's very, very disrespectful."

Haliburton did not appreciate his father's excessive fervor, either. The Pacers guard revealed he was upset with his father's behavior and talked to him about the incident after the emotionally charged win.
“I don’t think my pops was in the right at all there.”

Haliburton's father was classy enough to apologize to Antetokounmpo and the Bucks, regretting his actions.
I sincerely apologize to Giannis, the Milwaukee Bucks and the Pacers organization for my actions following tonight's game. This was not a good reflection on our sport or my son and I will not make that mistake again.

If Tuesday did mark Antetokounmpo's last game in a Bucks uniform, the lasting image of him jawing with Haliburton's father will be hard to shake off. It is widely believed that the Bucks may trade Antetokounmpo and blow up the roster after the recent playoff failures. Antetokounmpo was unwilling to address his future after Tuesday's heartbreaking loss.
