Future Hall of Famer Russell Westbrook is one of the better players to put on the UCLA Bruins jersey over the last 20 years. He was special during his time with the program, and it saw him get drafted fourth overall in the 2008 NBA Draft.

During his sophomore season with the Bruins, Westbrook averaged 12.7 points and 4.3 assists per game. He helped them get to the Final Four during that season, where they ultimately lost to Derrick Rose and the Memphis Tigers.

Westbrook led the Bruins in the game against Memphis with 22 points, but it just wasn’t enough to get them to the National Championship Game. He is loved at UCLA by the fans and remains a favorite to this day.

Recently the former Bruin point guard was seen in a private workout alongside NBA superstar Kyrie Irving of the Dallas Mavericks. The two guards can be seen practicing together, although it’s not known where this occurrence took place.

Westbrook looked in good shape, showing off his ability to drive to the rim and finish. Irving got him the ball, and the former Bruins star made things happen. It's been how Westbrook has played his game since he first arrived in Pasadena.

It’s ironic that they are working out together due to all the history that they have shared over the last few seasons. It was rumored for a long time that the Los Angeles Lakers were going to replace Westbrook with Irving. But the two remain in a good spot and are friends off the court.

Westbrook and Irving both will enter this upcoming season, looking to make their mark with their respective teams. These private workouts should help keep them fresh for the season, and it’s almost a cool thing for the fans to see.
