WVU guard Kobe Johnson has entered the transfer portal, per Verbal Commits. Johnson has spent three seasons with the Mountaineers and joins Jeremiah Bembry as the second player to depart on Wednesday.

Johnson has played in 92 games for West Virginia, dating back to the 2021-22 season. The 6-foot-3 guard was originally recruited under Bob Huggins’ staff and Johnson stuck around following Huggins’ departure last summer. Johnson played 31 games and started 26 of them for former head coach Josh Eilert. Johnson averaged 6.0 points, 2.0 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game. The Canton, Ohio native shot 43% from the field, 28% from three and 79% from the free throw line.

Johnson has one year of eligibility remaining.

West Virginia now has three scholarship players on the roster: Tucker DeVries, Noah Farrakhan and Ofri Naveh.

WVU has landed one transfer commitment with DeVries so far this offseason and has lost Josiah Harris (F), Seth Wilson (G), Patrick Suemnick (F), Kerr Kriisa (G), Jeremiah Bembry (G) and now Johnson. WVU also has a high school commitment from former Drake signee KJ Tenner.
