Portland State finished the 2023 season 5-6 (4-4 Big Sky) and will enter the 2024 season with aspirations to make its first appearance in the FCS Playoffs since 2015.

Portland State's schedule features two FBS matchups, two FCS out-of-conference matchups, and eight Big Sky conference games. The Vikings will have a chance to earn two signature wins against Chattanooga and South Dakota as both programs made appearances in the FCS Playoffs last season.
