COLLEGE STATION -- Ashton Funk is headed to Aggieland.

The four-star interior offensive lineman committed to Texas A&M on Wednesday as part of the first signing class under new head coach Mike Elko. The Katy Tompkins native recently held his ceremony earlier in the week and declared he would turn in the paperwork on Wednesday.

A longtime commit under Jimbo Fisher, Funk committed to play for the school over the coach. He chose A&M over top-ranked programs, including Houston, LSU, Baylor, and Alabama, among others.

While Funk started three seasons at offensive tackle, he is expected to shift inside to guard at the next level. Per On3's database, Funk is the No. 19 interior offensive lineman in the class and the No. 48 overall player in the state of Texas.

Following the flip of defensive lineman Kendall Jackson, the Aggies now have No. 14 recruiting class nationally, according to On3. Funk is the second player to officially sign from the 2024 recruiting class heading into Wednesday's festivities.
