College football fans are venting on social media after the College Football Playoff committee revealed the final rankings after Championship Weekend. Michigan, Washington, Texas, and Alabama punched their ticket into the playoff.

That means two undefeated teams in Division I football, including Liberty, will be left out of the playoff for teams with blemishes on their record. They’ll have no chance to prove they’re the best team in football because teams with losses can.

Florida State, who went undefeated this season and won the ACC Championship Saturday night, was left out of the playoff in favor of a one-loss Alabama team that should have lost to Auburn a week prior. Boo Corrigan, who is on the playoff committee, said on ESPN Sunday that the Seminoles didn’t get in because they are a “different” team after quarterback Jordan Travis’ injury.

College football fans claim the playoff was rigged for ratings

The committee has found an excuse to put an SEC team in every year of the playoff. The committee’s guidelines seem to explicitly say to put Alabama in the playoff unless they lose two or more games.  Many fans think the committee put in Alabama because they’d draw better ratings than the Seminoles.

(Here’s hoping Florida State claims the National Championship after their bowl game.)

Fans took to social media to vent on Alabama getting over an undefeated Power 5 team. Here are the best takes on the Seminoles being snubbed by a committee looking for good television matchups.
