College Football Week 8 best teaser

Week 8 of college football may have started on Wednesday with Georgia State and Appalachian State, but this week's best college football teaser focuses on a pair of Saturday games. Best of all, neither game starts until 2:30 p.m. (ET), so you've got time. However, we recommend you place this teaser immediately.

The Boilermakers are 5-2 so far this season, but they've yet to lose a game by more than four points, which is why Purdue is the top leg of our teaser. Despite being underdogs against Wisconsin, there's a strong chance the Boilermakers win outright, let alone cover the 8.5-point spread via the teaser. Purdue is a perfect 2-0 against Big Ten West teams so far this season, and Big Ten East teams are 7-3 against Big Ten West teams overall. And guess what? Wisconsin happens to be part of the Big Ten West.

So, don't overthink it: trust Purdue to cover. Wisconsin is certainly playing much better football since firing head coach Paul Chryst, but they've still got a long way to go. Even with Saturday's game falling on homecoming, don't expect the Badgers to blow past the Boilermakers. Wisconsin is 0-2 so far this season against Big Ten East teams, and despite taking it to Purdue last season, they’re far, far away from being the same team they were a year ago.

As for the final leg of our teaser, take Hawaii +11 against Colorado State. Betting bad teams is always risky — both teams currently have five losses — but it's worth it here. The CSU Rams are averaging the second-fewest points in the nation (12.2), and have yet to score more than 19 points in a game.

Hawaii is by no means the more superior team in this one, but they're coming off a double-digit win over Nevada last week, and are certainly capable of beating CSU. And best of all, the Warriors are starting to score consistently, something the Rams haven't done all season. Hawaii scored 31 points in last week's win vs. Nevada, and have 24+ points in three of their last four games.

Expect neither team to score more than 17 points in this one, but don't expect either to win by more than a field goal either. That's why Hawaii at +11 is a no-brainer.

Purdue (+2.5) to (+8.5) AND Hawaii (+5) to (+11) (-106 odds via Barstool)
