The Colorado Buffaloes head into the 2024 season with sky-high expectations. Head coach Deion Sanders has made it clear that this season is going to be different than 2023. The team showed promise last year but couldn’t come up with many wins. Sanders has remade the team through the transfer portal, but as the spring portal opens up, some players are choosing to move on. Offensive tackle Isaiah Jatta announced he is entering the transfer portal.

Colorado Buffaloes Lose OT Isaiah Jatta To Transfer Portal

Jatta has one year of eligibility remaining and should get some looks in the portal. He was a JUCO transfer and was a NJCAA 1st Team All-American in 2022. With all of the new offensive line pieces, Jatta might have been on the outside looking in. With only having one year of eligibility left, he wants to make the most of it. Sanders has never been shy about telling his players where they stand within the program. He might have been clear with Jatta that he wasn’t starting, so the senior decided to test the waters elsewhere.

Cause For Concern?

One thing that has defined the Deion Sanders era in Colorado is the player movement. The roster has seen unprecedented turnover from year to year, and it doesn’t look like it is changing. While this is something that every program is dealing with, it seems to be happening even more with the Buffaloes. It is difficult to know if this is a concern or not. This season will be a good barometer for the Colorado Buffaloes.

Deion Sanders wants the Buffaloes to make the College Football Playoff. Offensive line play was a huge problem last year and they now will have to figure things out with the upperclassman Isaiah Jatta.
