The Colorado Buffaloes had a disappointing end to the season losing eight of their nine games. One bright spot was the play of Travis Hunter. The two-way player made huge plays on both sides of the ball and was one of the most entertaining players in college football. Hunter made a bold promise for 2024.

Colorado Buffaloes Travis Hunter Makes Bold Promise

Hunter doesn’t want anyone to count the Buffaloes out. This year was somewhat thrown together with Deion Sanders being hired midway through the offseason. He made a bold promise for 2024.

“You know it was a hard season for us. A group of men coming together that we never seen before. Next year, best believe we’re winning more than four games. We coming different next year, for sure.

“Expectations for next year, just go out and ball. Trying to become the highest draft pick I can. Try to win something with my team. Try to get the National Championship. Try to get a bowl game. Just try to get everything we didn’t get this year.”

He guarantees winning more than four games and even floats the idea of a bowl game and national championship. This feels lofty but there is no shortage of talent on the roster.

An Uphill Battle

News out of the Colorado program has not been great this week. A couple of top recruits decommitted and a couple of players entered the transfer portal. When Sanders took the job, many wondered whether there would be an avalanche of recruits clamoring to play for Coach Prime. This does not seem to be the case. The offseason is far from over and Colorado could bring in some great talent but so far, the news hasn’t been great.

One thing is for sure for the Colorado Buffaloes. Travis Hunter is coming back and he is a huge impact player on both sides of the ball. He could get some Heisman buzz early next season as well. Colorado has a lot of work to do but Hunter is confident in himself and the team.
