No consensus has formed yet on who might be among the top five picks in this year’s NFL Draft. But we know of some players who are in the mix, and one of them apparently comes with a few concerns.

ESPN draft analyst Todd McShay talked from the Senior Bowl this week about Thibodeaux. He said he has heard some criticism about the former Oregon defensive lineman.

“I heard a lot about Oregon DE Kayvon Thibodeaux, including concerns that he just doesn’t play with the same fire as some other top prospects,” McShay said. “His ceiling is high, but the floor is lower than what you want for a top-five pick.

“Based on a handful of conversations, it wouldn’t shock me if Thibodeaux fell out of the top five,” McShay concluded.

This is a big change for McShay. A year ago, he and Mel Kiper both projected Thibodeaux to be the No. 1 pick in 2022.

Either the feelings from those in the NFL have changed regarding Thibodeaux, or someone is sharing negative rumors about him in hopes that he will fall to them in the draft.
