The Michigan Wolverines football program (13-0, Big Ten Champs) and Alabama Crimson Tide (12-1, SEC Champs) are about to face off in perhaps the biggest game of the Jim Harbaugh era for the Maize and Blue. On January 1, 2024, at the iconic Rose Bowl Game (CFP), a spot in the national title game and more is at stake, and if you ask ex-Michigan football star Taylor Lewan, this one shouldn’t even be close — he’s got the Maize and Blue by double-digits.

Ex-Michigan football star has a bold take on the Rose bowl

Taylor Lewan was an outstanding offensive tackle for Michigan football during the Brady Hoke era, and while his Wolverines lost to Alabama back in 2012, he notes that the two programs are in very different spots now than they were then. In 2012, Bama went 13-1 with a national championship victory, while the Maize and Blue fell to 8-5 after losing the Outback Bowl to South Carolina.

This season, however, Michigan football heads into the College Football Playoff (CFP) with a 13-0 record, an elite quarterback, and ranked No. 1 after beating Ohio State and winning the Big Ten for the third season in a row. On the other hand, Alabama dropped an early game to Texas, yet still managed to beat Georgia for the SEC title, indicating that these two blue-blood programs are about to give fans an incredible matchup.

Michigan over Alabama by 10+ in the CFP semi-final?

That said, Taylor Lewan did some homework on Alabama, and he has a bold takeaway about the Rose Bowl: Michigan football should win by ten or more (below).

In less than three weeks, the No. 1 Wolverines and No. 4 Crimson Tide will settle this on the field. Everything is at stake for both teams this fall, and if all goes as Taylor Lewan projects it will, the Maize and Blue will be marching into Houston for the national title game in about a month.
