Fans react to skyrocketing ticket prices for Alabama-Tennessee

College football fans are peeved by "insane" prices for tickets for Saturday's SEC showdown between No. 3 Alabama (6-0) and No. 6 Tennessee (5-0).

Earlier the week, Sports Illustrated’s Ross Dellenger tweeted that tickets for the SEC’s Game of the Week are going for a minimum of $350 on the secondary markets. Fifty-yard line seats at Tennessee's Neyland Stadium are selling for way more:

As of Wednesday evening, the three biggest secondary markets aren’t showing prices for a seat in the nosebleeds of Neyland Stadium any lower than $300.

Stubhub is showing tickets to the upper bowl at $378 while SeatGeek – which blew up because it allowed fans to buy last-minute and affordable tickets to prime events – is selling general admission to the North Upper Deck at $802.

If you want to sit on the Tennessee 50-yard line, or maybe an end zone, you could pay Ticketmaster upwards of $1,900.

There’s even a ticket for the upper bowl that’s going through a verified resaler for $5,850.

Fans took to Twitter to vent their shock and frustration with the staggering prices.

The Volunteers are 0-15 against Nick Saban’s Crimson Tide, but SEC weathervane Paul Finebaum of ESPN said Tennessee finally feels ready to face Alabama.

Is this matchup really worth paying exorbitant prices for a ticket?
