Florida State WR Keon Coleman's NFL hype grows after dynamic Week 1

At 6-foot-4, 215 pounds, Florida State wide receiver has the size and athleticism NFL scouts covet at the position. After Florida State's huge Week 1 win against LSU, Coleman proved he could also produce when the bright lights of prime time are on.

A transfer from Michigan State this past offseason, Coleman dazzled against the Tigers. So much so that one anonymous NFL scout told On3 that he could be the second-best wide receiver prospect in the 2024 NFL Draft, behind only Ohio State's Marvin Harrison Jr.

“You don’t want to overreact to last night, but is he now the next best (NFL receiver prospect) after Marvin Harrison Jr.? That’s probably a legitimate question,” the source told On3.

Coleman was dominant against what was supposed to be a pretty solid LSU defense. The FSU wideout caught nine catches for 122 yards and three touchdowns. That included this play in the second quarter when Coleman saw a touchdown waiting to happen and went and got it.

"Really, just being thankful for the opportunity," Coleman said after the game, per ESPN. "Coach [Mike Norvell] saying yes to me and believing in me. I'm grateful for my teammates, getting to show them the hard work that we have been putting in the whole summer is paying off and getting to show a glimpse of what I can do, and not only me, just what our whole receiver room and the rest of the team can do."

Coleman caught 58 passes for 798 yards and seven touchdowns last season for Michigan State. His Spartans went 3-6 last season and may not be all that great in 2023. Florida State, on the other hand, looks like a legitimate College Football Playoff contender with Coleman in tow.

Just for the sake of tracking...Harrison Jr. caught two passes for 18 yards with no touchdowns in OSU's win against Indiana.
