Everyone involved with the Alabama football program is taking the bye week to continue celebrating a victory over Tennessee.

Nick Saban saw his team suffer a tough loss in 2022, but the Crimson Tide responded with a 34-20 win over the Volunteers at Bryant-Denny Stadium to improve to 7-1. Blake Sims, a former Alabama quarterback, understands the joy Jalen Milroe is feeling after getting a significant victory in a rivalry game. Sims, the starting quarterback for the Tide in 2014, led the team to victory by the same score at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, Tenn. He had 286 passing yards, 42 rushing yards, and three total touchdowns.

Milroe posted 220 passing yards and two touchdowns. Sims, a 2014 Southeastern Conference Champion, is the offensive coordinator at Mt. Bethel Christian Academy in Marietta, Ga. He walked into work Monday with a victory cigar in his mouth.

Sims posted a video to Twitter with the caption, “It’s great to be from Alabama.”

The Tide takes on LSU next week at home.
